Representing Ngāti Pikiao, Maire Kennedy welcomes us to Te Waiiti Marae at Rotoiti. A proud kapa haka performer, Maire introduces us to his whānau and showcases the rich cultural traditions passed down through generations.

Mapihi Anderson from Waiōhau introduces us to her sacred maunga, Hikurangi, and takes us to Waiohau Marae. With a passion for rugby and tikanga, Mapihi shares the vibrant traditions of her Tūhoe iwi.

From the Waikato, Tangiata Teinakore shares her connection to Rukumoana Marae and the Kīngitanga movement. With pride in her Tainui roots, Tangiata reflects on the legacy of her tūpuna and the strength of her iwi.

In Rotorua, we meet Olivia Tait of Te Arawa. Olivia proudly introduces Ngongotahā Maunga and her Whakaue hapū, sharing what it means to carry her iwi’s mana and heritage into the future.

Meet Monoa Paki from Taupō, proud uri of Ngāti Tūwharetoa. Monoa shares his love for whānau, soccer, and his whenua, taking us to Tauhara Maunga and the magnificent Taupō Moana.

From the stunning East Coast, we meet Kahu-Tarena Maxwell of Te Whānau-ā-Apanui. Fishing with her dad and visiting her grandparents' whare, affectionately called “The Castle,” Kahu shares her deep connection to Raukokore and its stories.

Aia Brears of Te Whakatōhea takes us to her home in Ōpape and proudly introduces Tarakeha Maunga and Ōpape Marae. A passionate kapa haka performer, Aia shines a light on the strength and beauty of her culture.

Frankie Te Kani from Tauranga introduces us to his world through Hairini Marae and Mauao Maunga. A devoted son, Frankie shares his love for kaupapa Māori and the special bond he shares with his dad.
